What’s an Energist you may be asking? Well, an energist is someone that advocates for energy, and helps people improve, or heal their energy. Recharging your energy is the key to changing your life.
An energist is a person who knows for a fact that energy is absolutely real, because they can feel energy in their own body and in others. Energy is everything. Your energy is an integral part of who you are and it influences how you perceive and live in the world. We all have times when our energy is palpable, and its effects are undeniable.
There is so much more to energy than meets the eye. Energy is in every single living thing, our bodies are electrical and they give off electrical energy – just like the potato science experiment many of us did in school.
Did you know that humans are 99.999% energy and only 0.0001% matter? This means that our physical, mental, emotional, and social wellness is important for our physical body, but our energy and spiritual health is vital to our overall wellbeing, more than we give it credit for. The majority of us focus most of our attention on our physical and mental health, and very little on our energetic health, then wonder why we still feel so exhausted.
- Have you ever walked into a room and felt an odd or strong energy vibe?
- Have you ever met someone and felt something was a little off?
- Have you ever felt like no matter how much sleep you get, you are still exhausted?
These are all examples of energy. Energy medicine is the act of channeling and manipulating the energy that flows through your body in order to heal it. This can be done with hands-on practices such as acupuncture, kinesiology and Reiki, as well as sensory-based experiences like the use of crystals, sound baths, and aromatherapy.
Energists believe that your body is a life force of energy, and the flow of your energy must be balanced for good health. Energists believe that blocks in your body’s energetic field can cause poor health. Many Energists agree that modern medicine is essential, however, modern medicine primarily focuses on the physical body, whereas Energists work with the physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual bodies, and believe energy work is equally as important .
Energy healing is a traditional and ancient healing practice that restores the balance and flow of energy throughout the body, mind, and soul.It is used to treat various medical conditions, especially ailments related to mental health by addressing any disturbances of the energy flow within the body. It is believed that when the energy flow is resolved, the person feels better.
There is a placebo effect in all medicine, and energy healing is no different. Belief is an important self-healing mechanism, but belief isn’t necessary for energy healing to be effective and has been shown to work on animals and babies.
You can read an interesting scientific study on mice that healed themselves of mammary cancer through energy healing. William Bengston, the author of The Energy Cure: Unraveling the Mystery of Hands-On Healing, is first and foremost a scientist. He learned an energy medicine technique from a psychic healer and decided to test it in the lab by using pharmaceutical test mice injected with cancerous cells. He trained a team of skeptical colleagues at City University in New York to use the hands-on healing technique. The result was surprising. Not only did Dr. Bengston and his team managed to keep the mice alive longer than had previously been thought possible, but they cured them entirely. They repeated the experiment many times with thousands of mice, and the result was always the same. Time and again, in every experiment, the mice healed themselves of the mammary cancer. And what’s more, when the mice were reinjected with cancer, they were unable to get the disease. The energy treatment had rendered them immune.
Energy healing is unexplainable in many ways, but there are countless stories like this that show that it works.
Energy healing can be done hands on, hands off, and through distant healing. An Energist may be trained in massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, Reiki, Qigong, Kinesiology, EFT Tapping, Meditation, Touch Therapy, Sound Therapy, breathwork, and many others, but in essence, they use energy modalities to work with your body to help it heal itself. Energists help your body heal itself, we are facilitating and guiding the healing, not curing you.
Many people who have low energy try everything to fix their energy levels, including seeing medical professionals for endless tests only to find out medically they are fit and well (which is fantastic!). However, it leaves you feeling confused and a little concerned about why you are still feeling so low. These are the sorts of people Energists frequently see, and they use their chosen modality to help clear these energetic blocks.
We all have our own internal battery that holds our energy, sometimes it feels fully charged, other times it feels totally flat, and no amount of sleep, rest, or holidays will fix it. The times we are living in right now are energetically impacting many of us, and that is why you will see more people stepping into trying new ways to gain more spiritual connection and improve their energy.
When you have low energy, it can affect your life in many ways:
- Physically – you may find it difficult to be vibrant
- Emotionally – you may feel sensitive to other people’s energy towards you, or yours towards theirs
- Mentally – you may feel overwhelmed, confused, or have trouble making decisions
- Spiritually – your life may feel empty, depleted, or feel like you’re missing something.
When your energies are strong and healthy, your life improves dramatically and you have energy to spare and share.
When your energy is intune, your relationships become fun and joyful. Your love flows. Your mind is clear and decisive. Your sense of self relaxes and your creativity flows with new ideas. Life becomes exciting and meaningful.
Energists believe that the highest good for humankind consists of realising and fulfilling our inborn abilities to be all that we can be. And having your energetic health at its most potent level, can only be a good thing to help with that.
So there you have it, that is what an Energist is, what we do, and why we do it. It’s a relatively new term, and there isn’t much written about it, but mark my words – this word will be seen more and more in the future.
